On this page
Ask about start-up funding, grants, investors, valuation, securities rules or proposals in plain language. The assistant is built to think like a practical business manager: it answers first, shows the numbers, tells you the next step and says plainly when something must be verified with the funder or a professional.
What the assistant can do
- Match your situation to funding routes: grants, tax credits, loans, angels, venture capital, crowdfunding and community offerings.
- Explain terms such as pre-money valuation, dilution, SAFE, liquidation preference and SR&ED with examples.
- Point to the right program, investor or source in this site’s funding directory, investor finder and other funding sources, with the verification status shown.
- Outline the Canadian and US rules that usually apply to raising money, privacy and advertising, so you know what to ask your lawyer.
- Coach you on grant and investor proposals, then hand you to the proposal writer for a full draft.
What it will not do
- Give legal, tax or investment advice, or promise that you will be funded.
- Invent programs, amounts, deadlines, contacts or statistics. If it does not know, it says so and tells you where to check.
- Help overstate your traction or technology readiness to a funder.
- Accept bank, card or identity numbers. Please never type them.
How your information is handled
In basic mode the assistant searches this site’s own library and nothing leaves the site. In AI mode your message and the last few messages are sent through this site’s server to an AI service so it can write a reply. Your chat is kept in your own browser only, and you can clear it with the New chat button. See the privacy policy.
Tips for better answers
- Say your stage (idea, prototype, first revenue), sector, province or state, and how much you need.
- Ask one thing at a time, then follow up.
- Check any amount, deadline or eligibility rule on the funder’s official page before you act.
Frequently asked questions
Is the assistant a real adviser?
No. It is an AI tool with a library of verified funding information. It can save you hours of research, but it is not a lawyer, accountant or licensed financial adviser.
Where do the answers come from?
From this site’s guides, glossary, funding programs, investors and sources, plus general knowledge of finance and Canadian and US rules in AI mode. Library entries show a verification status and date checked. See the methodology.
Why does it sometimes say it cannot confirm something?
Programs and laws change often. When a detail is not in the library, the assistant tells you to confirm it with the funder rather than guess.
Can it write my proposal?
Yes, with the proposal writer. It drafts each section from your facts, marks gaps, and exports to Word. You review and submit.
